The Google Play Music service was discontinued in favor of a new music streaming service called YouTube Music. Because Google owns YouTube, the new app is essentially a rebranded, enhanced, and updated version of Google Play Music.
The following is how to migrate your music library to YouTube Music. You’ll be able to use Google Play Music until December 31st when it will be discontinued. Don’t worry, Google has a simple method for moving your music collection, playlists, and preferences over to YouTube’s music-streaming service.

In December 2020, Google formally discontinued using its music-streaming service. Users were told to download, save, or delete their data from Google Play Music by February 24, 2021, after which it will be erased.
